  1. LINUX is a freeware version of the UNIX operating system.

  3. The contents of LINBIN2.ZIP are:

  7.                      USRBIN2.TAR

  9. This is the second of the archives containing the Linux support
  10. files and binaries. To use this archive you will have had to 
  11. obtained LINUX1.ZIP (the root and boot images) and installed
  12. Linux on your hard disk. You will also want to find LINBIN1.ZIP
  13. which contains many file utilities, although it is not neccessary
  14. to have it in order to install this package. This packages contains
  15. many support tools including grep, gawk, find, locate, and kermit.

  17. Do to the size of the Linux operating system, and the difficulty
  18. of obtaining all the pieces without access to Internet, the 
  19. feasibility of distribution of Linux via diskette or CD rom is 
  20. being discussed. If you have access to SmartNet or RelayNet
  21. (RIME) then you may want to join the Unix conferences to follow
  22. developments. Post your messages to Dick Zuccarini on these nets
